On a perfect fall afternoon, Angela + Tim said “I do” at their Lincoln Park Conservatory wedding. The day was everything we could have imagined for their incredible elopement.
“We both met in Athens, OH while attending Ohio University!” Angela told me. “Tim was in grad school studying acting, and I was studying hospitality. We met at a bar called Ciderhouse through some mutual friends. We hit it off right away! When Tim asked for my number he realized he didn’t have his phone on him. So I, of course got to live my classic 1950’s black and white romantic drama moment and write my name and number on a cocktail napkin. I then slid it over to the handsome bearded man I had just met… I had never felt so classy.
Tim boldly texted me the next morning to set up a coffee date. I knew this man was special because our second date he insisted that we watch “The Room” (the best worst movie ever made) together. We laughed over silly YouTube videos and shared funny stories. It is our ridiculous sense of humor and the way we can make each other laugh that brought us together, and what keeps us going strong 5 years later.”
Angela got ready with her bridesmaids at an Airbnb in Lincoln Park. I, coincidentally, grew up down the street! Once her sister helped her get in her dress, Angela met her dad outside so he could see her for the first time. I’m honestly a sucker for father-daughter moments like these! Once we’d all gathered ourselves back again from all of the emotion, Angela hopped in the car with me and we set off to meet Tim!
Before walking up to the meeting point, Angela read a note in my car (while I played my wedding playlist in the background) that Tim had written for her for this exact moment. She showed me how he written a blog post about their most important dates together, with pictures + descriptions included! It made their first look even more powerful.
Once we snagged some portraits with the couple and their wedding party, we walked over to the Lincoln Park Conservatory to prep for their intimate ceremony. We were happy to take advantage of the fact that we had the entire place to ourselves! The wedding started off with a traditional processional, followed by a fun, untraditional flower girl giving away White Claws instead of tossing flower petals. There were speeches, vow readings, and a special handshake from the couple followed by their amazing first kiss as newlyweds!
All 23 guests then head over to the reception at Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba in Lincoln Park. In a private room in the back, the couple mingled with their guests before sitting down to hear some speeches. After the Best Man spoke, the Maid of Honor (Abby) surprised Angela + Tim with a video from Ciderhouse, the bar where they first met. At the very seat where they had their first beer, Abby had a permanent plaque made in their honor, celebrating their first date and the day of their wedding. This is by far one of the most special gifts I have ever seen a couple receive. I was crying along with everyone else in the room. Attached at the bottom of this post is the very photo Abby showed the couple at the bottom of this post so you all could see it!
I feel so lucky to have been a part of Angela + Tim’s special day. I’m so excited to continue a wonderful friendship with the two of them. Their Lincoln Park Conservatory wedding was one that I will truly never forget.
