This amazing Rockwell on the River wedding was so much fun! Kendal + Red definitely know how to party.
The couple met in the spring of 2017 at their job. What started as work acquaintances cracking jokes turned into a real friendship outside of work. Of course, that quickly evolved into a mutual crush. About a year later at a St. Patrick’s day party, the couple finally admitted their feelings and began dating. After about almost 2 years of dating, Red moved in with Kendal in February of 2020. They survived the pandemic together with a lot of couch time and snuggles with their dog Winnie, UberEats orders, outdoor park hangs with friends, and quality time. In the summer of 2022, Red proposed to Kendal at their apartment after cooking a homemade breakfast and placing flowers all around the apartment.
Kendal got ready at a nearby Airbnb with her girls. As the bride was getting zipped up, her mother stuck a penny in her dress for good luck. Kendal’s bridesmaids had their first look before taking a few more portraits. Red got ready with his groomsmen at their apartment. They had to make sure they were at Rockwell on the River before the bride so that they could prep for the first look. Once the couple saw each other, we got the chance to take some portraits at Judson & Moore Distillery (which was in the same building complex as the venue). Once we’d taken a few more by the entrance, Kendal was able to have a first look with her dad. Because sunset was fast approaching on this gorgeous November evening, the couple took a few more golden hour portraits after some family photos.
Kendal + Red’s ceremony was officiated by their good friend, Mehr. After a few readings and personal vows, the couple was officially married and ready to celebrate. A fun cocktail hour led to an entertaining reception. Guests watched the couple cut the cake before listening to speeches and enjoying dinner. Once Kendal danced with her father and Red danced with his mother, the newlyweds shared a first dance to “Fooled Around and Fell In Love” by Elvin Bishop and performed by their live band. After about half an hour of music, the band decided to surprise Red with a chance to sing his favorite karaoke song, “Proud Mary” by Tina Turner. He did not hold back one bit! This Rockwell on the River Wedding was definitely a fun one to photograph.
