Hanna + Nick escaped the chaos of Chicago by having their Morton Arboretum Wedding out in Lisle, IL. It was quite literally the most ideal summer day imaginable. Perfect weather + loved ones always make the best combination.
These two are definitely a “COVID” couple! They met on Bumble shortly after Hanna moved to Boston for her residency. On their first date, they braved the cold and ate sushi outside on a crispy fall night. Because of dining restrictions, they couldn’t eat inside! Hanna was impressed by Nick’s decisiveness. Nick just remembers Hanna wanting to end the date early (to be fair… she worked a 24 hour shift the next day). Luckily for them, it was the first of many dates to come.
Nick graduated from business school about 9 months into their relationship and moved into an apartment a block from Hanna (they still haven’t decided if this is creepy or cute). They moved in together a year later, got engaged in February 2023, and then decided to pick their lives up and move to Chicago. It was a city that they both had known and loved separately, so it made sense to start their lives together there. And the rest is history!
Hanna + Nick got ready for their Morton Arboretum wedding at the Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook Chicago. Even though they were getting ready apart, their rooms were side by side. This meant we had to prevent Nick from looking outside for some portions of the morning! The couple had their first look right across the street from the hotel. We were also joined by some unexpected furry forest guests. As a city girl, being that close to deer was definitely a treat! Once we arrived at the Morton Arboretum, the couple took photos with their wedding party before we got some portraits of just them. Once family photos were completed, guests began to take their seats for the ceremony.
Hanna + Nick were married in the Firefly Pavilion by a close friend. After the couple kissed and walked back up the aisle, guests made their way over to the bar for cocktail hour. Family + friends eventually sat for dinner. They cheered as the newlyweds entered their reception, cut the cake and had a first dance. Dinner, speeches, and more dances followed. I had the chance to sneak away with Hanna + Nick to take some sunset portraits with them. Everyone spent the rest of the night dancing, enjoying the sweet night air, and celebrating this amazing couple. I love getting the chance to get out of the city, and this Morton Arboretum wedding was no exception. Cheers to Hanna + Nick!
