Georgia + John hosted an absolutely EPIC party for their Bridgeport Art Center wedding. They included some amazing details that made this night truly unforgettable.
“John and I met nearly a year before we started dating while seeing other people. Fast forward to August of 2016, both of us are both freshly single (only a couple of months) and are sitting together at Smart Bar on a Friday night. We spent the whole night and subsequent weekend together, enjoying multiple music events. It only took a month for us to become a couple officially, and here we are all those years later, still enjoying the music that brought us together.”
Georgia + John got ready for their big day at the Marriott Marquis in the South Loop neighborhood. The couple chose to have their first look at Ping Tom Park. It’s Chicago spot that means a lot to them (and that was super close to their hotel!) After successfully getting John to the location before Georgia and having him turn around just at the *right* moment, the couple read personal vows to each other under the park’s pergola. After a few more portraits, we all traveled to another part of the city for wedding party photos. Then it was off to the venue!
Once we arrived at the Bridgeport Art Center, the couple took some family photos before tucking away as guests arrived. Their ceremony was kept short so that the Georgia + John could spend as much time with their guests as possible and change into comfy shoes! Cocktail hour was spent enjoying cocktails, playing board games, and putting temporary tattoos of the newlyweds. There was even an audio guest book, a device that saves voice recordings of people giving their well wishes to the couple.
After Georgia + John entered their reception and cut the cake made by John’s mom, we heard a few emotional speeches from loved ones. In fact, Georgia had to utilize a Q-tip for the majority of dinner to wipe away her tears! Dinner was followed by dessert + dancing. And the most popular song of the night? “Dragula” by Rob Zombie. I’ve never heard this song at a wedding before, but this crowd LOVED dancing to metal music. I definitely won’t forget this Bridgeport Art Center Wedding anytime soon!
