Liv + Jake’s wedding at Fairlie Chicago at the end of August was a perfect summer day. Not a bad vibe in sight for these two!

Their Story

It’s a modern love story: they matched on Hinge back in late 2020. Their first date was at Four Moon Tavern where they sat out on the patio, drank beers, and talked. Jake gave Liv a kiss that sealed the deal! For their second date, Jake cooked Carne Asada at home. They made things official right before taking their first trip together to the Smoky Mountains.

They have lived together since 2022. Jake is now a proud step-dad to their cat, Toast. They got engaged on July 13, 2024 when Jake made breakfast-in-bed & popped the question. They celebrated with dinner at Piccolo Sogno and then Jake surprised Liv with friends + family at The Dandy Crown in River West.

Getting Ready, First Look + Portraits

The couple both got ready at the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile in separate rooms. After their sweet first look outside on a side street, we all went to Union Station for portraits. It’s been a popular spot this year! The working train station has some really gorgeous corners and stairwells that I like to take advantage of with my couples. Once we were done, we drove over to Fairlie Chicago for family photos before the ceremony.

Fairlie Chicago Wedding

The couple was married by Jake’s childhood friend underneath a gorgeous chuppah. Cocktail hour was on the other side of Fairlie as the venue team flipped the room. Before guests took their seats, the band played a short set and invited everyone to the dance floor. All eyes were then on the stairs as the newlyweds descended down for their entrance and first dance. Once dinner and speeches were done, the couple danced with their parents. The hora soon followed to open up the dance floor for the evening. Liv + Jake even had a cannabis bar upstairs for guests to enjoy! This Fairlie Chicago wedding is one that I won’t soon forget.
