Alex + Ian had an incredible celebration for their Artifact Events Wedding. These two definitely know how to throw a party!
From the couple: “In 2012, we met working together at a student-run pizzeria called Felice’s at Loyola! We weren’t super close while working together but kept the same group of friends from the pizzeria. In December 2015, we all got together at Lagunitas Brewery and really reconnected. After a fun night of drinks and reminiscing about the poorly run pizzeria, Alex left her phone in a Lyft on the way home. Ian, cleverly, facebook messaged Alex asking for her number after she got her phone back. We then went on a date and the rest is history!”
While Alex got ready with her friends at the Drake Hotel, Ian prepped for the day in their apartment. We arranged for the couple to have their first look right around the corner from the Drake. Luckily for us, the weather could not have been better! Afterwards, the couple shared personal vows with each other. Portraits of the couple and the wedding party soon followed. A family friend even brought the couple’s dog Bravo to meet us for photos! Once we arrived at Artifact Events, we took a few family photos before having the couple tuck away before the ceremony.
One of the coolest things about an Artifact Events wedding is the actual space. The tall ceilings with large windows and vintage chandeliers truly create a unique-looking space. It was the perfect backdrop for Alex + Ian’s ceremony. Cocktail hour took place on the second floor and featured a number of personal details with Bravo’s face. Before dinner got started, guests were gathered in the center space surrounding the dance floor. Alex is a trained dancer, so the couple wanted to make sure they had all eyes on them for their big choreographed first dance to “Everywhere, Everything” by Noah Kahan. After hearing a speech from Alex’s dad, dinner service began in the first floor room. A few more speeches followed before the couple shared a dance with their parents. The dance floor opened up and guests were able to let loose as the live band played all of the classic wedding favorites. Alex even did the splits!
I loved being a part of this wedding. Alex + Ian are some of the kindest people I have ever met and it was an absolute joy to spend the day with them!
