This Adler Planetarium wedding was such an unforgettable celebration. And to top it off, we got a spectacular sunset for M + R’s ceremony backdrop.

Getting Ready, First Look + Portraits

The couple both got ready at the Langham Chicago. It’s personally one of my favorite hotels for folks to get ready before their wedding. Not only does the hotel have an incredible view of the city, but the amenities are second to none. As a photographer, I love the space right outside its doors on the North side of the building. The gorgeous covered marble wall often serves as an ideal spot for a first look, which is exactly what M + R did on their wedding day. Before arriving at the Adler Planetarium, we stopped by Museum Campus for some portraits. The Field Museum is masterfully able to combine history and beauty, making it one of the best places in Chicago for photos.

Adler Planetarium Wedding

M + R opted for an indoor ceremony for their Adler Planetarium wedding. The warm sunset rays made us feel like we were sitting outside– but with no wind! The real show stopper, however, was the florals and decor. Kehoe Designs, the architects of this wedding aesthetic, truly outdid themselves with the flower arrangements and structural pieces. The chuppah alone was jaw dropping.

Cocktail hour was held in the Clark Family Welcome Gallery while the team flipped the ceremony space. The result was nothing short of extraordinary. It felt like we had all been transported to a mythical realm. I’m still in shock thinking about the real olive trees that served as centerpieces! After dinner, guests watched the couple have their first dance. Following a combined mother dance, M + R were lifted high for the Hora. Guests were able to enjoy a vast array of desserts and sweets from local Chicago bakeries and patisseries.

After a quick outfit change, the couple led their guests into the Grainger Sky Theater for the after party. There is nothing more fantastic than this domed room, especially when there’s a DJ and drinks! M + R’s Adler Planetarium wedding was wildly fun, magical, and dare I say… out of this world.
